Private and group guided journeys using the medicine of “magic mushrooms” for personal and relational transformation.
At HeartWeave™, I am committed to guiding couples (and individuals in committed relationships) toward healing and connection through intensive experiences.
What is Psilocybin?
Psilocybin is the active compound that occurs naturally in over 200 strains of the Psilocybe genus of mushrooms. It is metabolized into psilocin, a psychoactive substance that crosses the blood brain barrier where it has many effects.
How does psilocybin assisted therapy work?
Psilocybin-assisted therapy is an individual, intensive experience that is held and guided by a trained person. It can be done in a private session or in a group setting. There is an entire process to prepare for the work, as well as to integrate it afterwards.
There is always a private bedroom for each person, as well as a dedicated, trained guide.
The experience is done in a separate, rented space. There are up to 3 comprehensive prep sessions (via zoom), a meeting in the space the night before the journey, the journey day itself (8:30 am – 5 pm), and two integration sessions in the following weeks (via zoom).
Accommodations are not included in the package. Participants cannot drive themselves to or from the retreat.
Individual results will vary.
Always consult with a medical provider or healthcare professional before beginning any new treatment. While we have some information about risks and contraindications, this is not a substitute for your own research and your own medical clearance.
See more about how to prepare for a psilocybin journey.
How do I schedule psilocybin assisted therapy?
The first step is to fill out an online assessment to determine if there are any contraindications to proceeding.
Then, once we have enough interested participants (if you want a group experience), we’ll coordinate a treatment schedule. Retreats are often held in Albuquerque, but it’s also possible to schedule on in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, or Taos.
Who This Work Is For
Psilocybin assisted therapy is best for people who:
-
may feel otherwise stuck in reaching a breakthrough
-
are willing to approach growth with honesty
-
feel ready for deeper emotional territory
-
are open to exploring their unconscious mind and rewiring patterns
-
are seeking meaningful, lasting change
Intensive work is not for everyone. If you feel called to explore whether it is right for you, you’re welcome to reach out.
That discernment helps protect the depth of the experience.

Considering a Psilocybin Intensive?
If you’re quietly wondering whether this format could help you and/or your relationship, reach out and share what’s been happening. Here’s a little more about psychedelic therapy for couples.
We’ll explore together whether a psilocybin journey is the right next step.
HeartWeave™ provides educational and transformational relationship experiences and is not psychotherapy or medical treatment. Couples are encouraged to seek appropriate medical and mental health guidance when considering any expanded-state experience.
Frequently Asked Questions About Psilocybin Assisted Therapy
What is the legal status of this work?
Psilocybin remains illegal under federal law as a Schedule 1 substance (though there are indications this could be changing soon). That said, it is legal in New Mexico for personal use and for guided experiences. By the end of 2026, New Mexico will have infrastructure for psilocybin-assisted therapy to include cultivation, facilitation, licensing, training, and protocols.
How do you structure the sessions/journeys?
Psilocybin assisted therapy in Albuquerque is set up as a package because the entire process is important. There are three preparation meetings (via zoom). There is a meeting the night before the journey to get comfortable with the space and your guide, as well as to go over how the journey day will go. The day of the experience, you get dropped off early in the day. You receive the gift of the medicine and ingest it. You will then have a private bedroom (in a separately rented space provided by us) to get comfortable and relax into the effects. Many people will receive another dose or even two as the morning goes on. Using a mask and headphones help you go “inside” where you can follow and lean into whatever arises. Your guide is always available – to sit with you, to help you, to check in. Once the medicine is fading, you’ll gather yourself, eat something and come into the common space. Your ride will then pick you up. Within the next few days, you’ll have the first of 2 integration sessions. There is always at least a 1:1 ratio of guides to participants.
What happens when you take psilocybin?
There are a range of reported effects from psilocybin that range from visual, auditory, physical, emotional, cognitive, and mystical.
What are the contraindications for using psilocybin as a medicine?
There are certain medical conditions and medications that are contraindicated for this work. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, heart disease, epilepsy, unmanaged diabetes, and schizophrenia are all potential contraindications. Medications can also interfere with the experience of psilocybin, including anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, and anti-psychotics.
How much does psilocybin assisted therapy in Albuquerque cost?
At this time, we charge $4000 for a private session, and $2000 per person for a group session (of up to 4 people). This covers about 16-18 hours of our time (including the prep and integration sessions, the pre-meeting, and the day itself), the cost of renting a private space, and the hiring of your guide.
What are the benefits of having a guide for a psilocybin journey?
There are several reasons that having a guide is important. The first reason is safety. It is important to have someone with you who can help you get what you need (including getting to the bathroom) and respond to anything that comes up, whether that is anxiety or agitation or any physical reaction to the medicine. Second, a guide can help you form your intentions and bring you back to those along the way, making it more likely that you experience a breakthrough.
